What is the Xometry Instant Pricing App for Onshape?
Xometry is the world's largest digital manufacturing marketplace, connecting designers and suppliers with an intuitive CAD-driven platform. The Xometry Instant Pricing app provides pricing and design for manufacturability feedback right within Onshape's cloud experience. Price one or many parts in processes like machining, sheet, 3D printing, urethane casting, and more.
How can I access the Xometry Instant Pricing App for Onshape?
You will need to subscribe to the Xometry app via Onshape's app store. See the directions below:
- Once signed in to Onshape, click App Store and search for Xometry. Click here for a direct link to the app.
- Click on the app and press Subscribe, then Get for free.
- Now you can open or refresh your Onshape browser.
- In Onshape, you will see the Xometry X logo on the right-hand extension tab, click that and Authorize application to get going!
Note: when you begin quoting, it will ask you to log in or create a Xometry login. We recommend using your business email (if applicable) for this!
How much does the Xometry Instant Pricing App cost?
The app is free to use; add it to your subscribed apps to get started!
Can you quote multiple parts with the app?
Yes, if you are working from an assembly, you can select multiple parts of your assembly from a list of components to start an estimate. Use the search tool to help when the assembly has many components.
What if I want to specify more specific features, like threads?
To specify additional features and requirements, click on the "View Xometry Instant Quote" button to open your quote in the Xometry Instant Quoting Engine. Once in your quote, you can click the "Modify Part" button to specify features, make selection changes, etc.
What will Xometry's in-app DFM detect?
Our automated DFM (design for manufacturing) feedback within the app checks for the following:
- Voids
- Oversized dimensions
- Small gaps
- Thin areas
- Supported sizes and volumes
- Sharp internal corners
- Model fidelity
- Floating parts
- Tool access
- File type
- Multiple shell check
- and more
Does it mean my design cannot be produced in that process if I see DFM feedback?
Not necessarily; while we strive to make our automated DFM feedback as accurate as possible, there are instances where there may be false-positive feedback. Generally, you can use our DFM feedback to guide you to potential issues. If you feel the feedback may not be accurate or want a manual review, feel free to reach out to us at support@xometry.com with your quote number, and our engineers will be happy to assist!
Can I add inspection reports or certification requirements within the app?
To add inspection or other quality documentation requirements such as material certifications, C of Cs, etc., click on the "View Xometry Instant Quote" button to open your quote in the Xometry Instant Quoting Engine. You can add certifications in the top left of the page or add inspection requirements by clicking the "Modify Part" button.
How do you order parts within the app?
After you receive a manufacturing quote using the Xometry Instant Pricing App for Onshape, you will have the option to generate a web-based quote and order directly from Xometry.com. Click the "View Xometry Instant Quote" button to do so. Once you click this button, you can access your quote online in your quote history at any time. You can order through our website with secure checkout.
Does the Xometry app for Onshape work for Onshape's basic, educational, and professional versions?
The Xometry app for Onshape is compatible with all versions of Onshape up to the Professional licensing plan.
Does the Xometry Instant Pricing App for Onshape support ordering outside the United States?
