When you create your own Job in Workcenter, based on the Process type, Workcenter is providing you with a default workflow (ex. CNC: Source Material, Manufacture Parts, Inspect Parts, Ship Parts). More than likely, this Process is not correctly reflective of your required production processes. This is where Workflow Editing comes in. When a Line Item is added to a Job, Workflow Editing will allow you to add, remove, and re-arrange tasks in the workflow to make the production process more representative of your processes. Additionally, Workflow Editing will allow you to set File Attachment and/or checkbox Requirements on the Task that block task completion until resolved.
Note: This feature allows you to make one-off edits per Job Line Item. The Process Management feature which will let you control/define the default workflow for each process type so that when you add a Line Item to a Job, the workflow is correct immediately. Workflow Editing can then be used to make Job-specific alterations to the workflow
Examples:
- Add more Production tasks such as ‘Cut Stock’, ‘Mill', 'Drill’ tasks/operations
- Add a ‘Post-Processing’ task with 5 checkboxes that confirms that each of 5 steps for Post Processing we completed
- Add requirement to upload ‘Inspection Photos’

Tasks (Managed Tasks and Create-Your-Own Tasks)
Workcenter provides some suggested Task names (Source Materials, Inspect Parts, Ship Parts, etc), but if the Task you are looking to create does not exist in the list, you can create and manage your own Task list.
- Click a ‘+' icon, to add a Task to the workflow.
- In the 'Select Task’ pop-up, type the desired Task name. If the Task exists in the list, select it.
- If it doesn’t exist, click ‘+Add {task name}’ in order to create the Task and add it to your workflow
Adding Subtask prompts (Attachments and Checkboxes)
Subtasks allow you to add optional or required prompts on tasks such as Checkboxes and Attachment requirements. When a user is marking a Task Complete that has subtasks configured on it, the user will be given the opportunity to mark the checkboxes or upload files in order to complete the Task

- Checkboxes
