About Kanban Board
Kanban organizes all of your Job Line Items by their current status and allows you to search, filter, and sort to locate Line Items of interest. Each card on the Kanban Board represents a single Job Line Item, organized in columns by their current status milestones. Kanban also enables new ways of updating your Line Items including click-to-update and drag-and-drop.
Kanban Columns
Kanban Board establishes the top-level stages of process Backlog, Preparation (Source Materials for Non-Additive processes), Production (Build Started for Additive, or Production Started for other processes) Post Production (Post-Process Parts, Inspection), Shipping, Complete. All Line Item cards are organized by their current status milestone, sorted by Due (Ship By Date) earliest first.
Updating Line Item Cards
Kanban allows for new ways of updating your Line Item(s).
- Drag-and-drop into the desired status column
- Shift + Click on the first card, hold Shift and select a second card in the column to select a range, and drag-and-drop
- Command+Click to select specific cards across columns and drag-and-drop
- Click ... Select whole column to move in bulk
Kanban Cards Details
Card Anatomy
Cards are designed to provide essential details to the user at a glance. Currently cards layouts cannot be configured/customized but this is a feature we may consider in the future. For any information that is not reflected on the card, simply click the card to see all Line Item and Job Details in the pop-up
- Part Thumbnail, Part/Line Item ID, and Job ID
- Quantity
- Card Color: (At Risk, On Time, Past Due)
- Blue: Ontime
- Yellow: At Risk
- Red: Past Due
- Green: Complete
- Current Milestone Status
- Request VQC (If VQC Required for Xometry Job)
- Required Subtasks (Certs, Inspections, required file uploads for Xometry Jobs)
- Manufacturing Process
- Material
- Job Ship By/Due Date (for Completed Jobs, this will be Shipped By Date)
- Assignees (Users assigned to Tasks within the line item
Line Item Card Pop-Up
Click a Line Item card to open its Details pop-up. From here you can view details, update status, upload photos, and more.
Kanban Limits
Each column can load the first 50 relevant line items according to the applied filters and sorts. By default, no filters are applied, and the default sort will be Job Ship By Date Asc (meaning the soonest Due at the top)
Filtering on Kanban
Use filtering to narrow the Kanban Board to the set of Line Items you care about.
Filter by:
- Job ID(s)
- Has Requirements
- My Tasks
- Xometry/In-house
- Job Ship By Date
- Job Created Date
- Job Size
Sorting on Kanban
Currently you can sort all columns by Job Due Date (Ship By Date) Asc (soonest first) or Desc (further out first). The Completed column is locked at Completed Date Asc
