Non-conformances and Rejected Parts Found Prior to Shipping
Rejected or non-conforming parts are documented and communicated based on the inspection type selected.
For Standard Inspections, Xometry may ship parts found with minor non-conformances (that cannot be reworked into compliance and are assumed not to impact the fit, form, or function of the part) for customer review.
For 3D-printed parts, the manufacturer can attempt a remake if it is believed to be related to a manufacturing or orientation issue.
For other inspection types, and any order where a Certificate of Conformance is selected, Xometry will contact the customer to discuss non-conformances for all issues that cannot be reworked into compliance prior to shipping.
Non-conformances and Rejected Parts After Delivery
You may report a non-conformance post-delivery through the Order Summary Page in your Xometry account. Select “Report an Issue” for any parts received, and proceed through the steps.
You will be prompted to identify the non-conformances and quantity affected, and to provide evidence of the non-conformance to aid in the efficient review of your request.
Xometry Returns and Claims specialists will review the non-conformance(s) and respond with their findings and next steps to address the issue.
See Xometry’s Return Policy page for more information on returns.
