Material Certifications, also known as Material test reports (MTRs), state both mechanical and chemical properties of the material, lot or heat number, the specification which the material complies with (AMS, EN, ASME, ASTM, etc.).
Material Certifications can be requested on Xometry's Instant Quoting Engine by clicking "+Add Certifications" and then selecting which certifications you require. Once the appropriate certifications are added, press save.

Select what certifications you require, and press save to apply your options.
- Standard Material Certification certifies that the material's chemical and physical properties are in compliance with the specified standard(s).
- DFARS Compliant Material Certification Certifies the material is compliant with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFARS).
- Domestic Compliant Material Certification certifies that the material is American made (melted and manufactured in the U.S.A.).
Material certification may add cost and lead time to a quoted project, which typically will update automatically when applied.
Figure 1 shows an example of a Material Certification if your parts are made in the US. Figure 2 shows an example of a China-equivalent Material Certification if your parts are made in China.
