We're so glad you registered for a Xometry Advance Card! Reference the information below for any questions you may have.
Can I receive more than one card for my business?
At this time, businesses can only have one card per account.
I requested my card and still haven’t gotten it yet. What should I do?
After requesting your Advance Card, it will take up to 10 days for you to receive the card in the mail. If it has been longer than 10 days since requesting your card, reach out to us so we can verify its status. If your card was lost/damaged in shipment, please do the following to get a new card:
1) Deactivate your card through the Financial Settings in the Shop Finances section of your Partner Portal.
2) Request a new card as you did with your initial sign-up.
3) A replacement card will be sent to you within 10 business days.
Activating your Xometry Advance Card
You should typically receive your card in the mail within 10 business days after opting into the program. To activate your card, go to your Shop Finances page and click the Activation link. You will be asked to input the last 4 digits of your card.
Once you activate your card and accept an eligible job, the Xometry advance will be added to the available spend on your Xometry Advance Card.
Advance Card Spending
What jobs are eligible for the Advance Card?
Once your card is activated, it will be loaded with 50% of the value of jobs accepted from the Jobs Board, up to $7,500 for anyone's job.
At this point, any job awarded from the RFQ or Finishing Services marketplace would not be eligible for the Xometry Advance Card benefits.
Is there a limit to how much you can spend at one time?
You can spend up to the allowable spend on your Advance Card, not to exceed $25,000 in any one day or in any one transaction. Of course, an advance is calculated as 50% of the value of a job, with a limit on the advance of $7,500. If you had multiple jobs pending at the same time, you might have allowable spend that could approach or even exceed $25,000, so the per-day and per-transaction limits could come into play then.
What happens if I don’t spend the full 50%? Where do the excess funds go?
When you get paid out on Fridays, we automatically calculate the total of your completed jobs and deduct purchases from the total payout. You will always get paid for anything you don’t spend on your card.
You can use your card on business expenses at any qualifying merchant where Visa is accepted. The following merchant categories are restricted:
Automated Cash Disburse - 6011
Betting/Casino Gambling - 7995
Dating/Escort Services - 7273
Digital Goods – Games - 5816
Manual Cash Disburse - 6010

Non-Fi, Money Orders - 6051
Non-Fi, Stored Value Card Purchase/Load - 6540

How do I report a suspicious transaction?
You can dispute a suspicious transaction by emailing email@example.com. Please provide any supporting evidence in your dispute case.
Once you submit your dispute to Xometry, our team will file your dispute with our card partner, Stripe, and Stripe will route the dispute to Visa(™). All disputes will be investigated by Visa(™) in accordance with their dispute rules and procedures. Currently, it takes 30-90 days for a dispute to be resolved.
Though Xometry is not obligated to do so, we may issue a credit to you on your Xometry Advance Card prior to the dispute’s resolution so that you can continue to purchase without a major interruption.
How are advances calculated?
An advance on a Xometry job is calculated as 50% of the job value, up to an advance limit of $7,500.
- So a job valued at $1,000 is eligible for an advance of 50% x $1,000, or $500.
- A job valued at $25,000 would be eligible for an advance of 50% x $25,000, or $12,500.
- Jobs larger than $25,000 would only be eligible for an advance of $7,500.
Advance Card Fees
There are currently no fees associated with your Xometry Advance Card.
Advance Card Balance
Why is my card balance negative?
We understand a negative balance can be confusing. Since the Xometry Advance Card does not work like a regular credit card, the accounting is a little different.
We deduct card purchases from your job payout about seven days after the transaction settles (which is typically 1-2 days after you make the purchase). Depending on when your next job payout is, it's possible you get paid out before your advances are deducted, which can result in a negative balance. This can also happen if you take a few smaller Xometry jobs, and then use your advances to make one larger purchase.
No immediate action is required on a negative balance. The best way to turn the balance positive is to take a new job off the job board! You can refer to the Xometry Advance Card Terms and Conditions for more information.
Can I view my balance on my mobile device?
Yes, the Shop Finances page is part of your Partner Portal, so you can use your preferred mobile browser to navigate there.
Advance Card Credit
Does this affect my credit in any way?
Using the card does not require a credit check and has no impact on your credit rating.
Keep in mind, though, that should you spend funds from an advance and fail to satisfactorily complete the job, you do have to pay those funds back to Xometry.
See our terms and conditions.
Advance Card Transfers
Can I transfer my advance card funds to my personal bank account?
No. Advanced Funds are intended to give you improved cash flow so you can use the Advance Card on any business expenses. Any unused funds will be included in a future payout. The advanced funds may not be transferred to your bank account until it is included as a payout.
Declined Advance Card
Why was my card declined?
It’s possible that your card was declined for one of the following reasons:
- You may have attempted to make a purchase from one of our restricted merchant categories. Check our list of restricted merchant categories to determine if that was the case.
- The cost of your purchase was higher than your available spend. Check your Shop Finances page to view your card’s available spend.
- The cost of your purchase was higher than the daily spend limit of $25,000.
Canceling Your Advance Card
On your Financial Settings in the Shop Finance page, click “Deactivate card”. You will be prompted to confirm your decision. Once deactivated, you will no longer get access to 50% of your job upfront. You will still have access to your Shop Finance page to view your payouts and completed jobs. At any time, you can request a new card.
